Now that the girls are staying up for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours between naps, it’s been more and more difficult to entertain them. By the end of the day, they are sick of playing with their toys (and so am I)! If just one of them is up from her nap, I’ll carry her around with me as I cook or do chores around the house, but when both of them are up, I’ve had to come up with some activities to keep them both entertained. Here’s what we’ve been up to the past few days.
Now that the weather has cooled down a bit, we go on a short morning walk, an afternoon walk and then Daddy will take the girls on an evening walk when he gets home. The girls like to stop at the park and enjoy the fresh air. If you’re wondering if that’s a box of ribbon sitting in the middle of the girls, you are correct! That’s another one of our “keep busy” activities…pulling out ribbon from a box!
Amelia loves this little teething stick.
Bandit takes his guarding job pretty seriously.
Story time is always a favorite.
One of the girls will usually grab the book from me and start eating it before the story is over, but at least they get a little bit of reading in!
Water time! I’ll put a cookie tray on top of a towel, fill it with water/toys and let the girls go to town splashing.
Samantha likes to grab all of her toys to see what they will do in the water.
This activity usually necessitates a complete outfit change.
More ribbon!
Moving the twins from room to room usually keeps them happy for a while. They think watching me fold laundry on the bed is fascinating…for about five minutes.
Double trouble.
More ribbon in a box!
Boxes in general provide a few minutes of entertainment. I’ll put different toys in the box and the girls love trying to open it up and grabbing their treasures.
Eating the box is always a bonus.
I’m going to miss it when the girls aren’t so easily entertained anymore!
Lots of love,
