It’s beginning to look NOTHING like Christmas

The weather has been gorgeous lately, so we took advantage of the sunny weekend and took Samantha and Amelia to the park to play with their friend, Maliyah.
Siamese twins on the baby swings!
This was the first time the girls have been on swings (at least with me…Jake claims he’s taken them on the swings before, but since I have no recollection of this, I’m not counting it). Either way, they had a blast.

ANYTHING YOU CAN DO, I CAN DO BETTER.

Amelia seemed to enjoy the swings more than Samantha. I owe this to the fact that she’s part monkey, so swinging must come naturally.

Amelia and Maliyah swing away.
Best pals.

Samantha preferred the slide over the swings.

Thrill ride!
The anticipation is killing me!

Samantha’s hair was so static-y each time she slid. That, and her non-stop giggles all the way down were quite entertaining.

Hanging on for dear life!

I’ll catch you, sis!
The girls loved playing outside and our outing made me wish I was able to get out to the park more often. The only times I’m able to go is when Jake or a friend who doesn’t have kids can come so that there’s a 1:1 ratio of adults to twins. Otherwise, it’s next to impossible to get out of the house with both of them now that they are huge and crawling everywhere. For one, I can’t carry both of them at the same time, along with the fact that they won’t stay put for more than a second and always seem to find rocks, leaves, and other interesting artifacts to put in their mouths. Hence, the 1:1 ratio.
Ok, so maybe it’s looking a LITTLE like Christmas…

All ready to greet our adoring public at church. Seriously, on any given day there are at least ten people who ask to hold one of the twins. The problem is, the girls still have major separation anxiety/stranger danger and will start bawling approximately 3.7 seconds after being passed off to someone else.

Sunday, we drove up to visit Auntie Meredith and the girls’ doggie cousin, Lady in Long Beach. Amazingly, we timed it just right so that girls napped in the car and were excited explore their new surroundings once we arrived.

Lady wasn’t quite sure what to think of the girls, but Amelia tried to make a peace offering anyway.

A perfect ending to a busy weekend! Samantha and Amelia especially enjoyed plucking off the shiny ornaments from Meredith’s tree (we didn’t get a tree this year as we will be in Utah over the holidays), and we had a lovely time snacking, chatting and keeping the twins from destroying Meredith’s apartment. Good friends, good food, good times.

Lots of love,
