Beach Babies

After hiking at Bridal Veil Falls in Utah with our twin friends, the Nixons, we were excited to see them again when they took a road trip out to Newport Beach with their friends and spent an afternoon with us at the Baby Beach in Dana Point. Props to brave mamas, Katie and Ashley, for trekking across the desert from Utah with four toddlers! Heroes, in my book. IMG_4212

Katie fashioned some cute mermaid fins for the twins.

Lizzie, Iris and I were triplets in our matching outfits.

The kids found an awesome hole to fill up with water.

Entertainment for the entire afternoon? Check.

IMG_4176

Little Aiden was the youngest of the bunch, but was a little firecracker running back and forth, determined to keep the hole full of water.

The kids spent the last half of our beach day pretending they were various predators (alligators and sharks were their faves) and chasing the moms through the water, occasionally chomping off a leg or two.

Sammy the gator.

The beach wagon is super convenient for hauling our food, sand toys, towels, and of course, Meredith!

Thanks, friends, for an epic beach day and for inspiring me with your brave pioneer spirit!

Meredith’s Ill-Fated Raspberries

Spoiler: This cute video of Meredith blowing raspberries has a not-so-adorable ending and definitely deserves its own post. Watch at your own risk!

Midsummer Eves

The days are hot, the nights are warm and we’ve been staying out way too late having picnics, swimming and running the girls around to get out those last bursts of energy.

Maple and Meredith catch up on an evening picnic playdate.

Nom nom.

IMG_3964

Cutie patooties!

IMG_3952

Samantha and Amelia sampling the scrumptious Vietnamese food we devoured on a picnic with the Nguyens and Erpeldings. It’s our new favorite take-out!

IMG_3941

No need for the adults to watch the kids with Lily in charge. She had them entertained for an hour!

IMG_3972 IMG_3970

Love this fun crew.

IMG_3979

Meredith wanted to impress her friend with her newfound ability to blow raspberries.

Summer concert and snacks with the Erpeldings.

IMG_4215

The kids really got their groove on!

Afternoon Target run.IMG_4223

Late afternoon walks to the park to get some energy out have also been on the agenda lately.

IMG_4227 IMG_4229

Meredith tried out her first baby swing. Not as cool as Grammy’s swing, but exciting nonetheless.

IMG_4232 IMG_4233

Thrill junkie!

IMG_4239

And, of course, we have the usual post-bath shenanigans, compliments of Samantha and Amelia, on the daily.

Noah’s 2nd Birthday

We can’t believe Cousin Noah is already two years old! The twins were excited to celebrate at his incredibly cute construction-themed birthday party. Since boy themes are totally out of our area of expertise, we were impressed with all the creative decor!

Smothered with twin kisses.

IMG_8380

Loving the decorations and cute boy theme!

IMG_3999

Proud construction workers.

Meredith joined in the birthday extravaganza with great enthusiasm.

Meredith was taking notes for her own birthday party, which will be here before we know it.

IMG_4081

Such a cutie!

IMG_4083

Once the clown disappeared, Elmo made his grand entrance. Much like at the girls’ own 2nd birthday party, they wouldn’t go near Elmo unless I was right there. I personally think clowns are scarier than giant red stuffed animals, but to each their own.

The moment we’ve all been waiting for…

IMG_4008

Cute design and delicious.

IMG_4068

Definitely high sugar voltage times two!

IMG_4075

Family photo with Elmo. I love how much Noah loved Elmo!

IMG_8532

Noah’s attitude the whole party was, “Yeah. I’m cool. What else is new?”

IMG_4015

BEST DAY EVER.

Cruelly tempting Meredith with a cupcake.

Cute favors.
