Meredith’s Entertainment

The twins are constant entertainment for Meredith.  Never a dull moment at Grammy’s or back home.

Grotto Falls

While in Utah, Grammy’s co-worker suggested a family friendly hike down in Payson, the Grotto Falls Trail. At under half a mile, but up in the mountains with plenty of beautiful scenery, creeks to cross and the reward of a waterfall at the end, it was the perfect hike for us. You would have thought it was a fifty-miler the way the girls complained the entire time.

“I’M TIRED!!!!!”

“CARRY ME!!!”

“IT’S HOT!!!”

“I HAVE ROCKS IN MY SHOES!!!”

At first, Samantha and Amelia begged to wear their own backpacks full of snacks and water.

That lasted about five seconds

The creek crossings made it feel more adventurous.

Are we there yet?

IMG_3836

We made it!

I asked about five different people coming through to take our picture, and they all turned out pretty terrible. It’s hard to find reliable picture-takers, these days! It didn’t help that the girls were screaming because they were, “SOOOOOO COLD!!!!”

“GET ME AWAY FROM THE WATER!”

IMG_3853

The grotto was gorgeous and once the girls calmed down, they had fun exploring and tossing rocks.

Time to go… the girls were famished, despite having approximately fifteen snacks on our journey.

Springville Splash Pad

It’s always fun seeing old friends in Utah, but it’s hard getting everyone’ schedules to sync up and it hasn’t worked out the past few trips. This time around, we were able to get together with Sarah and Zuleika’s families for a morning at the Springville Splash Pad near Sarah’s house.

What a fun zoo crew! Despite it seeming like it would be chaotic with all the kids, they all entertained each other, so we could sit back and relax.

IMG_3808

The splash pad was more like a river running down the sidewalk, and the twins loved it.

Meredith found Claire and Zuleika highly entertaining.

It was Beckham’s birthday, so Sarah brought cupcakes for all the kids to devour.

When will I be old enough to splash too?

Twin Friends at Bridal Veil Falls

While in Utah, we met up with my friend, Katie, who used to live in California, then Michigan, and now Utah. We haven’t seen her adorable twins, Lizzie and Iris since they were babies. Now that everyone is finally out of the baby/toddler stage and are talking and playing more, it was cute to see all the twins interacting with each other.

IMG_1601

We took a short walk up to Bridal Veil Falls and fed the fishes in the pond.

IMG_1561 IMG_1563

Poor Meredith. When will she be able to make some friends of her own?

IMG_1559

We crossed over the rocks to the other side of the falls, amidst four squeaky voices complaining about the ice cold mountain runoff.

IMG_1573

Jake took some random pics of us without us knowing. We were apparently deep in conversation comparing “twin” notes.

IMG_1589

All the girls were a tad bit cranky at the falls. Nothing a picnic lunch wouldn’t fix.

IMG_1596

Full tummies (even though it was only 10:45 a.m.) did the trick and the girls threw rocks in the river and played with each other the rest of the time.

Who’s up for ring around the rosie?

IMG_1625

So cute!

IMG_1627

Serendipitously, Katie and her twins had planned a trip out to California for the following week when we would be home, so the girls were happy they would get to see their friends again!
