Beach Babies

After hiking at Bridal Veil Falls in Utah with our twin friends, the Nixons, we were excited to see them again when they took a road trip out to Newport Beach with their friends and spent an afternoon with us at the Baby Beach in Dana Point. Props to brave mamas, Katie and Ashley, for trekking across the desert from Utah with four toddlers! Heroes, in my book. IMG_4212

Katie fashioned some cute mermaid fins for the twins.

Lizzie, Iris and I were triplets in our matching outfits.

The kids found an awesome hole to fill up with water.

Entertainment for the entire afternoon? Check.

Little Aiden was the youngest of the bunch, but was a little firecracker running back and forth, determined to keep the hole full of water.

The kids spent the last half of our beach day pretending they were various predators (alligators and sharks were their faves) and chasing the moms through the water, occasionally chomping off a leg or two.

The beach wagon is super convenient for hauling our food, sand toys, towels, and of course, Meredith!

Thanks, friends, for an epic beach day and for inspiring me with your brave pioneer spirit!

Twin Friends at Bridal Veil Falls

While in Utah, we met up with my friend, Katie, who used to live in California, then Michigan, and now Utah. We haven’t seen her adorable twins, Lizzie and Iris since they were babies. Now that everyone is finally out of the baby/toddler stage and are talking and playing more, it was cute to see all the twins interacting with each other.

We took a short walk up to Bridal Veil Falls and fed the fishes in the pond.

Poor Meredith. When will she be able to make some friends of her own?

IMG_1559

We crossed over the rocks to the other side of the falls, amidst four squeaky voices complaining about the ice cold mountain runoff.

Jake took some random pics of us without us knowing. We were apparently deep in conversation comparing “twin” notes.

All the girls were a tad bit cranky at the falls. Nothing a picnic lunch wouldn’t fix.

IMG_1596

Full tummies (even though it was only 10:45 a.m.) did the trick and the girls threw rocks in the river and played with each other the rest of the time.

Who’s up for ring around the rosie?

So cute!

Serendipitously, Katie and her twins had planned a trip out to California for the following week when we would be home, so the girls were happy they would get to see their friends again!

Lots of love,
